🐶General description

“Hello humans, I'm Manny. I'm a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle. I LOVE being petted by my foster humans, snuggling up to them and following them around! My energy level is generally quite low, but I have my little moments of madness too. You'll soon notice several scars on my face, reminders of my three years of freedom. But make no mistake, I'm a real sweetheart!

🐕🐈👶Cohabitation

I am currently cohabiting with three dogs and everything is going well. I like to play with them when we are outside. I'm not crazy about small dogs and puppies with boundless energy. I prefer calm dogs who have playtime here and there. I've been gradually introduced to cats, but I show predatory behaviors. I can therefore NOT cohabit with them. I LOVE humans and I love to have their attention. I tend to stick my head on them and push them until my ears are scratched. I've never met children, but everything suggests that cohabitation will be possible if they are calm and respectful.

🏡Inside

I'm free in the house, both day and night, even when my humans are away. I do it like a champ! I knew the cage when I arrived and I tolerated it. I barked my head off at first, but soon calmed down. I'd much rather be with my humans than alone. However, we practice solitude every day to make sure I'm comfortable when I'm alone. For example, I sleep in a separate room at night. By the way, I'm really smart! I've figured out how to open locked doors. When my foster family is with me, I'm always in the same room with them. I like to get into my humans' bubble! I'm proud to say that I'm 100% housebroken. I've mastered sitting and I'm practicing lying down and waiting my turn. I'm very motivated by treats.

🦴 I'm very gluttonous with treats, and have a bad habit of trying to steal food from counters. So this is a behavior that will have to be worked on with me. At mealtimes, however, I eat my fill at a reasonable pace. My chewing needs are moderate. I do NOT protect resources, but I do have a tendency to steal chew items from my canine companions.

🌳Outdoors

When I'm outside, I have little interest in balls and toys. I prefer to play and chase my canine pals. I have access to a fenced yard, but I have little interest in running away. I have good recall when I'm in my yard. I pull hard on the leash, as I want to feel and explore everything. This will require further work with my future family. I could potentially be a good candidate for harness sports.

🚗Transport and handling

I don't like getting into the car, but once inside I'm calm and well-behaved. It has to be said that I feel safe when I'm in my transporter. If I'm free in the back seat, I'm more agitated and a little anxious. I even try to get into the front seats. I don't mind being handled, because I love attention so much! I cooperate with ear cleaning, tooth brushing and bathing. I haven't had my nails clipped yet, but I think that with positive reinforcement, I'll be fine.

To sum up, I'm an absolutely ADORABLE dog who knows how to charm everyone I meet. I'm a human LOVER, so I'd love to find a family who will include me in their adventures. If you open your heart to me, you won't regret it!”
