🐶General description

"Hi humans, it's me Ulloriaq! My pretty name means star. I'm said to be an ENERGY and AFFECTUAL puppy. I love everyone I meet, furry or not, and my energy level is moderate.

🩺I was transferred by the Nordic Puppy team last December because one of my back legs was in bad shape. I was examined by a vet and x-rays were taken. We don't know the cause of my problems, but my leg was shorter than the other and my knee was “fused”, so I couldn't walk at the time... So an amputation was recommended following a discussion with an orthopedic surgeon. I'm now a brave tripathlete who's adapting quite well to my new lifestyle. I'll need to continue and maintain moderate physical activity to help develop my muscles and maintain a healthy weight. It would also be beneficial for me to swim regularly, which would also help me achieve my goals. I'll also be starting veterinary osteopathy treatments this week, so I'm sure to make even more progress!

🐕🐈👶Cohabitation

I currently cohabit with two adult dogs, a cat and a child. I get on wonderfully with everyone! I've been lucky enough to meet several dogs, in addition to the ones I cohabit with, and I adapt very well to all of them. I love playing with them and their presence reassures me enormously. I'm very gentle with the small children I've met, I love being petted and meeting new human and canine friends. A family with another dog would be a plus for me, and I could easily complement a family that already has cats and/or children!

🏡Inside

In the house, I'm free at all times and I behave like a champion! By the way, I don't like the cage and I'll tell you very clearly by howling like a wolf!  Although I'm very close to my humans, I'm even closer to the family dogs. When I'm away, if my dog friends are there, I'm calm. However, if I'm left behind, I cry a lot and feel uncomfortable. My future family will have to continue desensitizing me in this respect. At night, I sleep on my carpet in the living room with the other dogs, and in the morning, I like to join the humans in bed for cuddles. I don't bark, but I do bark from time to time, often to communicate a need or dissatisfaction. I know the “sit” and ‘no’ commands very well and I'm learning the “rest”.

I'm clean most of the time and know how to ask for the door.  When I'm away or in a hurry, I can still escape. At night, I also use my exercise mat. It has to be said that I needed it during my convalescence, but I'm ready to continue learning.

🦴I'm a big foodie, but I don't do any resource protection! My chewing need is high and I tend to want to swallow my treats without chewing them enough. So my foster family uses props to insert chewy items so I can't swallow them whole.

🌳Outdoors

I love being outdoors! I currently have access to a fenced yard and spend a lot of time there playing but also resting. With my big fur, I'm not afraid of the cold and I love lying in the snow at night. I particularly like to spend long moments on the porch enjoying the outdoors. I don't bark, I just enjoy the wind and the sun.  I recently discovered the pleasures of digging in the dirt! I haven't shown any signs of predation. My greatest pleasure is playing with dog friends, and at first I can be a bit intense, but I understand dog language very well and can now adapt to playing with different dogs. Mind you, even though I only have three legs, I have a good sense of escape! Especially when it comes to visiting my dog friend next door!  My recall is not yet acquired, but I stay close to my dog friends.

I love going for walks and discovering new places! Walking on a leash is not quite acquired for me and I pull a lot. It has to be said that I had to rest a lot following my operation and I was very excited when I went out for a walk! I'm very intelligent and with patience I'd certainly be very good! I don't let myself be impressed by other dogs I meet, I just go on my way. I am currently undergoing rehabilitation following my amputation. I take short walks on a leash for about 10 to 15 minutes. As I am growing and my muscle mass is not yet very developed, I still find it difficult to maintain a steady walking pace.

🚗Transport and handling

I really enjoy car rides, lying down wisely on the bench or in the boot during the journey. I cooperate well for baths and all handling. Brushing is not my favorite part, but if I'm gentle, I'll let myself be brushed.

In conclusion, I'm an ATTACHANT dog who likes to be given love and to stick to his humans. I'm looking for a gentle, loving family WITH a DOG who would like to offer me a life filled with unconditional love in the comfort of their home.  I can cohabit with dogs, cats or children."
